This is the statue of Notre Dame du Liban that is the focal point of Harissa. She is herself quite large, and stands on an equally tall pedestal. She used to face the interior of the country, as the country's patron, but during Lebanon's civil war, she literally turned her back on the war, turning to face the sea instead.
